Antibiotics are also given in cases where an open fractured tibia and fibula has shown signs of infection. In case infection happens, separate treatment may occur. In serious cases of open tibia and fibula fractures, there is the need to amputate the entire leg so that the remaining parts of the body will remain functional. Constant intakes of calcium supplements also help strengthen the bones.

Sometimes muscles are coupled together and will show stress signs as a manifestation that they have been overworking. If the muscles and bones are given enough rest, they will have no problem with carrying the normal load and they will function properly.
